Comfort without compromise

We caught up Karen, our very first Aerseat trialist to hear some more about her experience with Aerseat.

Aerseat is a ready-to-go wheelchair overlay.

With built-in smart air cells, it interfaces easily with contoured backrests and most manual & powered wheelchairs.

Image description: A quote on the left that reads ‘being able to app control your posture is a game-changer’ Karen. On the right two women are smiling to the camera, the women on the left is sitting in a wheelchair, the woman on the right is leaning over her shoulder.

During her trial period, Karen has used a couple of different versions of Aerseat and we’re delighted to hear that she finds the ability to control her posture with our app has made a significant difference in her day-to-day comfort.

She also finds transferring Aerseat between her wheelchairs very easy, especially with the latest version which incorporates colour-coded tubing for the air cells has been a huge hit.

The colour-coded tubing has made it much more straightforward to transition the Aerseat from one chair to another, which is very important to Karen.

Karen regularly uses 3 different types of wheelchairs depending on her location and activity - this includes her daily powered wheelchair, a foldable powered wheelchair and a manual chair. The ease of transfer of the Aerseat means that she doesn’t have to compromise on comfort no matter what her activity or location.

We asked Karen how the Aerseat compared to the static solutions to her seating issues like wedges and rolls.

She explained that although there were positive outcomes to using these solutions, this was only in isolation and that the use of such tools often had a negative impact on different sitting positions.

Giving us an example, Karen explained that wedges allowed her to sit in a better position for eating but then prevented her from tilting her wheelchair later in the day.

The Aergo App has allowed Karen to create a variety of postural support modes that suit the needs of her day to day activities.

These modes (all controlled by the touch of screen) communicate with the Aerseat and inflate or deflate the air cells to create an ergonomic surface that provides Karen with the exact amount of support she needs throughout her busy day.

The ability to control her position and comfort at the touch of a screen removes the need to transport cumbersome wedges and rolls to achieve the same levels (& better) of comfort and positioning.

Karen told us that by using the Aerseat she no longer experiences pain or discomfort throughout the day!

This is music to our ears and we are delighted to hear that Karen is having such a positive outcome from trialling Aerseat.
